How to Adopt:

If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs shown below, please complete this Adoption Application.

The adoption fee for dogs/puppies is $200, which includes spay or neuter surgery, first round of vaccines, microchipping and deworming.  Please understand that we do not have an adoption facility and all of our dogs are spread out in various foster homes, so we need to know which dog you are interested in meeting.  An approved adoption application is required in order to meet one of our dogs.

There are more dogs for adoption on our referrals page, which lists dogs who need homes but are not in our program.

For dates of upcoming adoption fairs, please see our Calendar of Events.

*Please note - this listing was last updated February 7th and may not be totally up to date.  Because we bring new dogs into our program weekly, please check the website often.

Lucy

BREED: Mix

AGE: 9 -12 months old

SEX: Female

Lucy came to Red Dog Farm after originally being adopted out as a puppy.  However, she grew much bigger than her adoptive mom was able to handle and had to come back to Red Dog Farm.  Originally, we thought she was a Dachshund mix and would stay smaller (under 15 pounds) but she is now full-grown at about 35 - 40 pounds.  She is great with kids, dogs, and other animals.  Lucy would love a family that LOVES to play as much as she does.  Once inside, she does know how to use her indoor manners and snuggle up for a good movie.  Lucy is house broken and crate-trained.  She simply was bigger than her adoptive mom can manage.  Lucy would probably enjoy hiking and greeting local neighbors on a good ole' fashion walk about the neighborhood.  Lucy is already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped so she is ready to go to her new home today!  If you are interested in adopting Lucy, please fill out an adoption application above.

Zoey

BREED: St. Bernard Mix

AGE: 1 year old

SEX: Female

Zoey came to Red Dog Farm originally as a puppy from an unwanted litter.  She was adopted out and has been great in her foster home but unfortunately the family has had an unexpected family situation arise and they are no longer able to keep her.  "Zo Zo" as her family calls her is a very smart girl who taught herself to sit when she wanted to be petted and to lay down automatically when told to stay.  Sometimes her nose gets her in to trouble with food in the kitchen but she is quickly learning she isn't allowed to counter surf.  Instead, she is learning to politely wait for a treat.  Zoey gets along with other dogs but has a tendency to chase chickens so a full farm life but not be best for her.  However, talk about a love bug or snuggler.  She loves to be with you and just join in on the fun of your day to day activities.  Zoey will also be happy to stay home by herself and happily greet you upon your arrival home.  Zoey is up to date on her vaccines, spayed, and microchipped so she is ready to go to her new home today!  If you are interested in adopting Zoey, please fill out an adoption application above.

Jazz

BREED: Pit Bull Terr. Mix

AGE: 4 months old

SEX: Female

Poor Jazz was the 6th female pit bull puppy that we tried to rescue early this year along with her siblings.  However, the owner had already given her away to someone else before we got there.  Fortunately for Jazz, her foster mom kept close tabs on her and recently found her abandoned at a local shelter.  We pulled her just two days after being dropped off there.  Jazz is just like her sisters - cute and very sweet.  She is hoping that someone will want to adopt her despite her being a little late to the party.  So far she does well with other dogs and is learning her manners very quickly.  We are still getting to know her but will update you shortly on her progress.  In the meantime, Jazz has been vaccinated and is scheduled for her spay surgery and microchipping on Feb 6th.  She will be ready to go to her new home just in time for Valentine's Day!  However, she would like us to remind you that she would be happy to meet with visitors before then.  If you are interested in adopting Jazz, please fill out an adoption application above.

Ringo

BREED: Pit Bull Terr. Mix

AGE:5 months old

SEX: Male

Ringo was originally found hog tied with a slit throat and tossed in a ditch to die.  Fortunately for him, he made it to the Guilford County Animal Shelter where the staff and volunteers worked diligently to save him and make sure he stayed healthy.  Today, Ringo has a very small scar on his neck from where it was cut and his wounds from being tied up have healed. He is a typical curious, active puppy that appears to have no emotional or mental scars from his abuse.  Ringo has been very fortunate in so many ways and is just happy about life and to be alive.  He would love a forever home that will help him learn the rest of his manners and one day let him show off how great his breed can be. Ringo has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered so he is ready to go to his new home soon.  His foster mom is also putting him into Cotillion Class (aka a manners class) so that he continues to wow audiences as his breed's ambassador.  If you are interested in adopting Ringo, please feel out an adoption application above.

Ringo is being sponsored in honor of the Traister Family.

Gary

BREED: Shepherd Mix

AGE: 5-6 Months

SEX: Male

*Application in Process*

Gary was found wandering the streets as a stray along with his brother.

Gary has gone to boarding school.  He is a wonderful puppy but suffers from separation anxiety and does not like to be crated.  He enjoys being around people!  We believe the anxiety is because he never learned to be by himself at a young age.  Gary should be ready to go to his new home at the end of October.  He has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered so once he settles down a little he will be ready to go to his new home.  Please stay tuned for additional updates!

Update!  Gary is doing well in his training to learn to be on his own.  He has made great strides in learning to entertain himself as well as adjusting to the crate.  Gary has also learned to sit, stay, and come.  He also walks well on a leash.  Gary would do best in a home with another canine companion as well as perhaps an indoor/ outdoor home.  To find out more about Gary, please apply above. He will be ready to go to his new home at the end of October.

Update!  Gary is doing great in his foster home.  He has learned how to be by himself but would prefer the company of another dog.  He doesn't mind being outdoors, in fact some days he prefers it.  He is learning to heal and knows how to come, sit, and down.  Gary will need to continue learning his manners and will need a patient person to continue working with him.  Gary would love to have a new home to share his kissed with this Valentine's Day.

Gary is being sponsored by the Benson Family.

Sammy

BREED: Boxer mix

AGE: 6 Months

SEX: Male

Sammy is shy but comes out of his shell pretty quickly once he gets to know you. He is only 6 months old and weighs right at 50 lbs. He will probably only get a little bigger though. He sits, shakes, comes when called and LOVES to play fetch!  He is current on all his vaccines and will be neutered soon.

B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, and Bingo was his name oh.  Ever since Bingo came to Red Dog Farm our volunteers haven't been able to stop singing that song and it appears that Bingo like it too.  When Bingo hears his favorite song, you often catch him wagging his tail.  Bingo is a fantastic dog.  He plays well with other dogs, gets along with cats, and has yet to meet a stranger.  He came to us when his owners could no longer keep him.  Bingo knows how to sit and come.  We believe he knows more than that but are still getting to know him.  He is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.  Bingo would make a wonderful addition to any home.  We will continue to update you on Bingo as we get to know him better.  If you are interested in adopting Bingo, please fill out that adoption application above.

Update!  Bingo's foster mom reports that he is a VERY smart dog!  He is completely house broken, crate trained, and just a sweetheart.  Bingo is still a very playful puppy but exercise helps keep any "boredom" issues under control.  For instance, Bingo loves a good long walk, playing in the backyard, or a nice jog.  He loves to be the center of attention and wants to be nearby at all times.  Of course, who couldn't love having that face follow you around?

Dino

BREED: Lab / Shepherd Mix

AGE: 4 Years

SEX: Male

Dear Wizard,

I know in the past you have helped Dorothy find her way home from Oz.  I was hoping you would be able to help me.  See, I too have been uprooted from my home due to my owners no longer being able to keep me.  Much like Dorothy, I have been placed in to a wonderful world of adoring friends who would do anything for me, as well as plenty of food and fun.  But I miss having a permanent family to call my own.

I would love a family to cuddle with, shield me from the thunderstorms, and take me for walks. I get along fine with other dogs as long as they aren't too obtrusive and I promise not to jump on anyone.  I even know my basic manners.  However, I do NOT like cats.

So do you have four ruby red slippers that I can use to get home?  If not, can you please at least have folks fill out the adoption application above so that I can get home?

Forever grateful,

Dino

Dino is being sponsored by the Workman Family in memory of their grandmother.

Templeton

BREED: Lab Mix

AGE: 4 Months

SEX: Male

Templeton along with his brothers, Wilbur & Henri, were found on the side of the road abandoned, hungry, and a mess.  They were flea ridden and are currently being treated for mange so they are missing some hair on their legs and bellies.  Once they have completed their treatment they will be happy, healthy, and gorgeous puppies.  The hair will grow back.  In the meantime, they are enjoying playing with each other and their foster mom.  We are still getting to know their individual personalities but they all aim to please and get attention. We anticipate that they will be ready to go to their forever homes about mid-October.  If you are interested in adopting one of them, please fill out and adoption application above.  Apply early because these little fellas won't be around long.

Update!  These little fellas are doing great in foster care.  They are learning a few basic commands and just enjoy being puppies.  Their previous vet check went great and their treatment is going great.  We anticipate that they are on track to be ready to go to their new homes around mid-October.

Update! Keep your fingers crossed... these little fellas go in this week for their final skin scrape for mange.  The veterinarian staff anticipates that they will be cleared to meet their fans and hopefully find their forever homes. In the meantime, they are learning basic manners and their hair is already starting to grow back.  Their foster mom can't say enough good things about them and can't wait to see them with their new families.

Update 10/19/11! These handsome guys are now mange free, healthy and are being neutered this week. They will be available to go to their new homes soon. Their hair is growing back and they are absolutely adorable. If you are interested in adopting one of them, please fill out and adoption application above.

Boston & Sox

BREED: Boxer Mix

AGE: 7 weeks

SEX: Male

Boston and Sox are two puppies left from an unwanted litter of puppies found in the High Point area. Fortunately for them, a very nice lady scooped them up and brought them to Red Dog Farm. These two puppies couldn't be any cuter or sweeter. We know that mom was a terrier mix, perhaps a Boston Terrier mix, but we think dad was a lab or boxer. We anticipate that these two will grow up to be medium to large breed dogs. Boston and Sox just came to us so we are still getting to know their individual personalities. However, we do know that they love to be snuggled and played with. They are learning how to get along with other dogs, cats, kids, and farm animals in their foster home so that they will grow up to be good canine citizens. Boston and Sox will be ready to go to their new home the first part of November. They have been vaccinated and will be neutered and microchipped once they are old enough in about another week or two. If you are interested in adopting Boston and/or Sox, please fill out an adoption application above.

Boo-Sue

BREED: Lab Mix

AGE: 8-10 Years

SEX: Female

"Boo" is an 8 - 10 year old lab who is looking for a new home because her owner is now in hospice care.  She is a sweet, easy-going girl who likes other dogs and does absolutely great with cats.  She has even become friends with the pot-bellied pigs in her foster home!  She has the perfect amount of energy and likes to go for walks, but she is happy to curl up and nap as well and sleeps through the night without making a peep.  She listens very well off leash and has no desire to leave the company of humans.

Boo's tail wags all the time and she loves to give as many kisses as her foster parents will accept.  She would be a perfect best friend and companion to anyone who could spend a lot of time with her.  She should be named "Shadow" as she will follow you step for step!

Boo would be a great first dog or a great addition to any family.  Because of her age, Boo's adoption fee will be waived for a great home. If you are interested in adopting Boo, please fill out an adoption application above.

Hunter

BREED: Shetland Sheepdog

AGE:14 years old

Hunter came to Red Dog Farm when his owner found out he could no longer care for him.  Hunter is in great health for his age and is still quite spunky.  He even decides from time to time to jog a little and go for walks.  He is a laid back boy and gets along with everyone from dogs, cats, and kids.  He is on daily supplements for old age but that is it.  He loves to snuggle and gives the occasional kiss to his foster mom.  Finally, Hunter grew up hiking 20 to 25 miles on the Appalachian Trail and still enjoys a good walk today although he doesn't go quite as far.  If you are interested in adopting Hunter, please fill out an adoption application above.

Cosmo

BREED: Greyhound/ Boxer

AGE: 1 - 2 Years

SEX: Male

WEIGHT: 35 lb.

Cosmo came to Red Dog Farm after being tossed out of a car.  The lady who witnessed him being thrown from the moving vehicle picked him up and immediately called us.  Fortunately for Cosmo, he has no physical injuries and does not have any emotional scars either.  He is just a happy go lucky kind of dog who enjoys spending time with people and playing with other dogs.  He does still enjoy riding in cars despite his previous incident.  Cosmo is ready to find his one true family who will love him forever and promise not to abandon him again.  He is fine if you still want to go on vacation as he enjoys visiting friends, but you just have to promise to come back for him.  Cosmo is a social boy who will be happy to go wherever you want to go.  So if you are looking for a companion dog who rides well in car, loves everyone, and is compact enough to go anywhere but large enough to keep up with you, Cosmo is your man.  If you are interested in adopting Cosmo, please fill out an adoption application above.

Cosmo is being sponsored in memory of "Scout" Dyer and his owner Andrea Dyer by their Yoga Friends.

Claire

BREED: Australian Shep. Mix

AGE: 6 months old

SEX: Female

Claire came to Red Dog Farm after her owners could no longer care for her.  They originally found her as an abandoned puppy and hoped to keep her for the rest of her life.  However, they discovered that was not the case.  Claire is a sweet girl who can be a tad shy at first but warms up quickly to a warm heart, a few pets, and a good old fashioned belly rub.  She is polite and well-mannered.  She knows to sit, going in her crate, and is house broken.  She gets along well with other dogs and we anticipate would do fine with cats.  She is still a puppy and learning not to herd folks.  Claire aims to please and would make an excellent dog for any family.  Claire has been vaccinated and will be spayed and microchipped next week.  She will be ready to go to her new home October 1st.  If you are interested in adopting Claire, please fill out an adoption application above.

Kramer

BREED: Terrier/Boxer Mix

AGE: Young

SEX: Male

Kramer came to Red Dog Farm when he was found as a stray roaming the streets of Greensboro this past June. He now weighs a healthy weight, is current on all of his vaccinations, has been neutered and microchipped. All Kramer needs now is to find his forever family. Kramer is one fantastic dog. He is a sweetheart and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He got his name from the crazy hair that he has. Kramer hasn't met a stranger, does well with other dogs, and doesn't seem to mind the cats he has met. People often comment that his wild hair looks funny but we think it just makes his personality shine! If you are looking for a 'clown' of a dog who will be loyal and your best friend than he is the boy for you. If you are interested in adopting Kramer, please fill out an adoption application above.

Tex was originally found as a stray wandering the streets of Guilford County. Tex is a sweet, gentle boy who loves, did I say loves, getting pet on!! He is learning to wait to be invited over for attention and once the invitation has been issued, he’s there in a heartbeat! He is a great, all around boy who just wants to please his people. He enjoys playing with toys, especially a ball. He gets along well with the dog, cats and bunny in his foster home.

Wilbur

BREED: Shepherd Mix

AGE: 4 Months

SEX: Male

Wilbur along with his brothers, Templeton & Henri, were found on the side of the road abandoned, hungry, and a mess.

Lilly

BREED: Deer hound

AGE: 5 - 7 years old

SEX: Female

Lilly was found wandering the streets of Winston-Salem a couple of weeks ago.  After attempting to find her owners with no luck, she came in to our program.  Lilly is a sweet girl looking for someone to just love her.  She has nice manners and walks well on a leash but that sniffer does work so her adopters will have to leash walk her or have a fenced in yard in order to keep her safe.  Lilly received a clean bill of health at her vet check and will be spayed shortly.  She has been updated on her vaccines and is ready to find her forever home. If you are looking for a faithful, laid-back companion, Lilly is your girl.  If you are interested in adopting Lilly, please fill out an adoption application above.

Update!  Lilly is doing fantastic in her foster home.  Although that's pretty easy when you just enjoy being a couch potato.  Lilly also loves to curl up in small space like her foster mom's laundry basket. However, she does enjoy a good old fashion run through the woods if you want to. But it certainly isn't necessary for her to be truly happy.  At the end of the day, your love and a good laundry basket is all she needs (clothes in the basket are optional).

Gizmo

BREED: Chihuahua/ Min Pin mix

AGE: 7-9 months old

SEX: Male

Gizmo was found wandering the streets already at such a young age.  We are unsure how he got on the streets but cannot find his owners.  He is an excellent puppy who loves everyone but is still loyal to his foster mom.  He gets along well with cats, dogs, kids, birds, and farm animals.  In fact, he even knows how to handle himself around a horse.  He has been vaccinated and will be neutered and microchipped on August 29th.  So he will be ready to go to his new home officially after that.  However, Gizmo wanted us to inform you that he would be more than happy to meet potential furever homes between now and then.  If you are interested in adopting Gizmo, please fill out an adoption application above.

Deacon

BREED: Australian Shepherd

AGE: 1 year old

Deacon came to Red Dog Farm after his owners could no longer keep him due to a family trauma.  Deacon has never been abused and is the typical Aussie.  He was well loved in his previous home and would make an excellent addition to anyone's home. Although he would do best in a home where he would either have a "job", spend his days working near you, or with an active family.  He needs to work a little on his obedience but doesn't have a mean bone in his body.  He loves to give hugs and adores human affection.  If you are interested in adopting this lovebug, please fill out an adoption application above.  He will surely be your Prince Charming.

Sweet Pea

BREED: Border Collie

AGE: Senior

SEX: Female

Update!  We have been unable to locate this sweet girl's home. Therefore, we will be going ahead and putting her up for adoption.  She has been vaccinated and received a good bill of health from our veterinarian.  She is an older girl and will need some medication for arthritis but other than that she is very happy.  She does well with cats and is fine with lower energy dogs.  We believe she was a bit of a spitfire in her younger days. Nowadays, a nice comfy couch, brisk walks, and pats on the head will keep her content.  If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please fill out an adoption application above.

Hooch

BREED: American Staffordshire Terrier

AGE: 3 years old

WEIGHT: 47 lbs.

Dear Fairy Godmother:

I know you have helped Cinderella in the past find her Prince Charming and I am hoping you can help me find my Princess Charming or rather Charming Family.  You see I have been waiting a very long time for my forever home but have not found them yet.  I have an entire team of volunteers working diligently every day to help me find my forever family but I thought it was time to ask for a little more assistance.

My dream home would consist of humans who want to snuggle, play video games, and who give GREAT hugs as I do love them.  As you can tell from my pictures, I love a good comfy couch as well.  I promise to share and only take up one end of it.   I wouldn't mind another dog in the house as long as they like to play.  I LOVE life and can be a little overwhelming for some canine companions.  I would do best without cats as I don't understand not to play with them.  However, if the cat is a hider I just leave them alone - out of sight, out of mind for me.  I can walk well on a leash, know to sit, stay, and come.  I don't have a mean bone in my body either.  I simply bark because I want to play and never learned that barking can scare some people.

Above all of these things, I wish most of all that someone loving and kind would give me a forever home. Please let me know if you know of someone who might be my Charming Family.  I can't wait to meet them!

Sincerely,

Hooch

Jessie

BREED: Pit Bull

AGE: 1- 2 years old

SEX: Female

WEIGHT:  52 pounds

Jessie and her friend Katie (who has been adopted) were found roaming the streets of Summerfield, NC.  They were skinny, overheated, dehydrated with sunburns and road rash.  Fortunately for them, one of our volunteers found them and took them directly to the vet for immediate medical work for their condition.

Jessie is the sweetest, most submissive dog you can imagine.  She loves people of all ages, dogs and cats.  She will let anyone (even the cat and the Bichon Frise in her foster home) boss her around and will wait until everyone else has eaten before she will go near the food bowl.  She is a total snuggle bug and really just wants to be in someone's lap at all times.  Jessie would do great in any family where she would receive a lot of love and attention.  She is beautifully crate trained and house broken and does not steal or chew anything that doesn't belong to her.   She is an absolutely fantastic dog.

Jessie has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and is available for adoption.

Spike

BREED: Chihuahua mix

AGE: 4 years old

SEX: Male

Are you looking for a lap dog?  Then Spike is your man.  Spike's mom raised him from a puppy and has helped bottle feed him since he was two days old.  Unfortunately, she is no longer able to keep him because of an unforeseen family situation.  Spike weighs about ten pounds and is just a cuddle bug with folks that he knows.  He enjoys wearing his winter sweaters and getting doted on.  He does well with other dogs, cats, and people.  Although he doesn't mind kids, he may startle a couple because he likes to bark at fast movements until he gets to know you better.  Spike would be an excellent heater this winter and a perfect gentleman to walk on the beach when the weather starts to warm up.  If you are interested in adopting this sweet little man, please fill out an adoption application above.

Spike is being sponsored by the Workman Family in memory of their grandmother.

Max came to Red Dog Farm after being surrendered when his family could no longer care for him.  He came to us severely infected with heartworms.  He has since undergone his treatment to get rid of these nasty little bugs and is ready for adoption.  He is still on restricted activity for another month but is ready and able to meet any interested applicant.  He LOVES life now but is a little shy from time to time with strangers.  He spent the first two and half years of his life not getting out a whole lot so sometimes people can be a little overwhelming.  However, once he bonds with you - it's forever!  Max LOVES his foster cat, bunny, and dogs.  He spends most of his time trying to get the bunny and the cat to play and they do!  It is quite cute to watch.  If you are interested in adopting Max, please fill out an adoption application above.

AGE: 5-6 Months

SEX: Male

Will came to Red Dog Farm after being found roaming the streets as a stray.  We are still trying to find his owners.  However, if we can not find them by early next week he will be neutered and ready for adoption.  Will is still a puppy and needs some training but he aims to please and has a sweet disposition.  He enjoys being active and playing so a family looking to adopt a dog to play with them in the backyard would be an excellent match for him.  Or really any home that would let him participate in your daily activities would be a dream come true for this nice gentleman.  Will would love to take a manners class so that he can learn new tricks and even more ways to be your dream dog.  He is generally housebroken as along as when he whines or goes to the door you take him out.  If you are interested in adopting this gentleman, please fill out an adoption application above.  He will be ready to go to his new home the week of June 16th.

Ty enjoys playing with rope toys, going for car rides, and laying in his foster mom’s lap. He knows how to sit, come when called, and go to his crate. Ty is an energetic and driven boy as is typical with most herding breeds. He would do best in a home that can provide considerable physical activity and mental stimulation on a daily basis. Ty is neutered and vaccinated; he will be microchipped soon. If you are interested in adopting Ty, please fill out an adoption application above.

Moe and Ben

BREED: Collie Mix

AGE: 2 1/2 Years

SEX: Male

Moe and Ben came to Red Dog Farm after being pulled from a hoarding situation near Statesville, NC.  Their owners had way too many dogs and could not care for them properly.  They are sweet boys who LOVE treats, dogs, and people.  They are a bit on the shy side, like most collies, but warm up after a couple of minutes.  They just need to know that you are friendly and then they are putty in your hands.  They walk well on a leash and enjoy going for walks.

We don't normally require that siblings be adopted together, but these boys are truly inseparable and must be adopted together.  When you see how much they love each other and depend on each other you will understand why!

Each is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped so they are ready to go to a new home.  If you are interested in adopting Moe and Ben, please fill out an adoption application above.

Moe and Ben are being sponsored by the Clark, Cheek, Payne, and Johnson families in loving memory of Steven Roger Clark, a devoted animal lover.

Heidi's Pups

BREED: Schnauzer mix

AGE: 4 Weeks

These puppies were born in to our program when their mother, Heidi (pictured above), was found roaming the streets of Greensboro.  Fortunately for her, she was able to find a nice warm home to have her puppies two days later.  The puppies are Schnauzer mixes and we are not sure at this time what they are mixed with.  It won't be until they are a little older to determine what they are mixed with or if they are purebreds.  However, we do know they are cute as a button and would love to find their forever homes from the beginning.  They will be ready to go to their new homes around May 21st.  They will be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped before going to their new homes.  If you are interested in adopting one of these little ones, please fill out an adoption application above.

P.S. Their mother is still available as well.  Please read her story above.

Mack

BREED: Chocolate Lab

AGE: 1 years old

SEX: Male

WEIGHT: about 80 pounds

Mack came to Red Dog Farm with a larger than life attitude. Be was a big, bad boy.  However, after getting neutered he couldn't be a bigger lovebug!  Recently, he even tried to help out a lost Robin egg by carefully scooping it up and placing it in his foster mom's hand. Mack does well walking on a leash and will be getting a basic manners class with the trainers at Shiloh K-9.  Mack is a very large boy who can be head strong, playful, and a bit of a bull in a china shop when he gets to playing.  Therefore, we think Mack would do best with a family that has had large dogs before and will be a consistent leader for him. He loves to run and will do great for someone that can provide him time for some daily excerise.  Once he gets to know you, he can be a big baby.  If you are interested in adopting Mack, please fill out an adoption application above.

Lacy

BREED: Pit Bull/ Basset Hound mix

AGE: 2  Years old

SEX: Female

WEIGHT: 50 Pounds

Lacy came to Red Dog Farm when her owners lost their home and could no longer keep her.  Lacy has now gone through a full length obedience class at Shiloh K-9.  She has been trained on an e-collar and her adopter will be trained in how to use it effectively.

Lacy walks beautifully off leash, sits, stays, comes, and goes to her place.  She is crate-trained and totally house broken.  She is in a foster home with five other dogs and plays well with all of them.  Her foster family has trained her to their Invisible Fence and she respects it 100%.  She does just fine with children but cannot always resist the urge to chase, so she is best suited for a home with older children or no children.  She is very good about letting children take her toys or put their hands in her mouth, ears, etc.

Lacy's only "negative" attribute is her desire to chase runners, bikers, skateboards, etc.  This is why we had her trained with an e-collar as she does respond to it when she has a desire to chase.  She also wants to pull on a leash but will "heel" with her e-collar on.

Her "positive" attributes are many!  She is super sweet, loves to cuddle, is totally housebroken, does not chew anything in the house, sleeps quietly in her crate or on a dog bed, and is very good about coming when called off leash.  She is a perfect indoor dog and also LOVES to swim and fetch.  She is trained to Invisible Fence and has never once attempted to leave the property in her foster home.  She has an energetic, playful personality but is also perfectly happy to nap in her dog bed while the humans work on the computer or watch TV.

If you are interested in adopting Lacy, please fill out an adoption application above.
