"Luke" is a 5 year old yellow lab whose owner recently passed away after a long illness. Luke has been without love for a long time and is starved for attention. He has been in the backyard largely ignored for 4 years and is lucky that someone finally decided to help him. He will be neutered Tuesday, August 28th and needs a foster or forever home in which to recover from surgery. He has never been inside but could certainly learn to be an indoor dog with some patience. What a handsome dog!

"Pete" and "Carol" are terrier mix puppies who were born June 8th. Pete has the dark markings and Carol is lighter. Their mother weighs less than 25 pounds, so they won't get too big. "Shyla" is a 14 week old black and white kitten who loves to play and explore. She and Shasta are the best of friends! Shyla is not afraid of dogs. Shyla is already spayed and vaccinated.

Angelo is almost 11 months old.  He was trapped at 6 weeks old in a feral colony, very sick, under weight, and had a severe eye infection.  He has successfully undergone his eye surgery and is now ready for his forever home.  Angelo is FELV/FEL negative and up to date on vaccines.

Laurel and Hardy are approximately 4 months old.  They were left in a box on the landfill in Asheboro when they were about 4 weeks old.  Someone riding a 4 wheeler found them and they were taken to the vet and are ready for their forever home. 

Serta is one year old. He was also found in a feral colony.  The mother was killed on the side of a road and an animal rescuer spent all day looking for her kittens.  They were in a gutted mattress and only about a week old.  He is the only one of his littermates that made it.  He is VERY affectionate and loving.

Howie is a Great Dane possibly Hound Mix, weighing in at 95 pounds. He is nearly two years old, up-to-date on all his shots and is one healthy boy! This sweet girl was found running across 4 lanes of traffic on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. She has now been vaccinated and is happy to be in a safe foster home.  She will be spayed when she gets a bit bigger.  She wags her tail all the time!

"Daisy" is a 9 month old terrier mix who was found wandering alone on a highway.  She has been in a foster home with children, dogs and cats and loves them all.  She is scheduled to be spayed and vaccinated August 14th and will then be available for adoption.  She walks well on a leash but will need an indoor home as she can jump a fence.

"Maisy" (top) and "Millie" (bottom) are 4 week old female beagle mix puppies who are being bottle fed in a foster home. They will be available for adoption once they are able to eat dry puppy food, which should be late August. Their adoption fees will cover spay surgery when they are old enough. "Sasha" is a 14 week old long haired gray tabby - she is beautiful. As you can see, she also likes dogs! Sasha purrs the minute she gets any attention. She is already spayed and vaccinated.

"Austin" is a young male Australian Shepherd mix who was found wandering the streets lost and hungry.  He is shy and calm and was lucky enough to be found by a family who cared enough to take him to the vet.  He has now been neutered and vaccinated and needs a new home.  If you would like to adopt Austin, please fill out the application above.

"Sadie Mae" is a 6 year old female mixed breed (maybe chihuahua/ cattle dog?) whose family had to give her up when they were moved by the military. Sadie Mae has lived with young children and is great with other dogs. She loves to sleep under the covers!  She is already spayed and ready for a new home.

Maddie is one year old and weighs in at about 55-60 pounds.  Her owners can no longer keep her due to a new living situation.  Maddie is very sweet, spayed, and up-to-date on her shots.  She is very social and gets along with other dogs, cats, and children.

"Sushi" was found under a house by a construction worker who was about to tear the house down. Sushi came to us at about 3 weeks old and is now spayed, vaccinated and ready for adoption!

Update!  Sushi has a home after all!  We didn't think she'd be adoptable because she has special needs but she is now in an understanding home that loves her unconditionally.

These three lab/shepherd mix puppies were found on a dirt road and appear to about 12 weeks old. They are precious and we wonder if they will grow into their ears! They will be neutered and vaccinated this week.

Update!  These 3 puppies are adopted but we've since had their two siblings surrendered, one of which is male and one is female (Rosie, pictured above).  They are at the vet now and will be available by August 3rd.

"Niles" is a young purebred Italian Greyhound who has been abused and is being rehabilitated by a volunteer.  We'll update Niles's bio as he becomes more trusting.  He is very sweet and wants to please but is very fearful of being touched near his neck.  He'll need a patient adoptive family to teach him to trust humans again.

"Boxer Momma" had 9 puppies in a shelter in South Carolina on Saturday, June 23rd and was going to be put to sleep so we pulled all 10 of them. They will be weaned and ready for new homes about August 18th.

Remi is a ten year old calico female who will be a beautiful girl once all of her fur grows in after being shaved.  We should have renamed Remi "velcro" because she wants to sit in someone's lap nonstop.  She is fearful of dogs and would love a quiet home where she could sit in a lap all day and purr. 

"Blimpie" is a 4 week old female boxer mix who will be available mid August. Blimpie got her nickname from being the largest puppy of the litter.

"Princess" is the runt of the litter of boxer mix puppies. She is going to be adopted by her foster family when she is old enough.

"Charles" is a neutered male rabbit who must have been attacked by something earlier in life as one of his ears is torn in multiple places (but has healed).  Charles is sweet and LOVES carrots!  He comes with a large wooden hutch for $50. 

Lilly is a 2 year old female terrier mix who weighs 27 pounds.  Lilly is vaccinated and has been spayed.  She is a very sweet girl and thinks she is a lap dog.

Fresca and her puppy (both of whom look totally purebred) were found on a country road where many dogs tend to be dumped.

"Teensy" is a male orange tabby who was found all alone on I-40. He is very skinny but otherwise healthy and ready for a new home!

"Peter Rabbit" is a Rex rabbit who was found in a neighborhood. Domesticated rabbits cannot make it in the wild and should never be "released." He is very social and loves rabbit treats.

"Taco, Nacho, Frito, Black Bean and Salsa" need homes!  Taco is a female, Nacho and Frito are male orange tabbies, Black Bean is solid black male and Salsa is a female calico.  They are now spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FLK and vaccinated and ready to go to new homes.

"Blue" is a 48 pound husky mix who was begging for BBQ at a local BBQ joint and was lucky enough for Gary Graham to see him.  They said he'd been in the parking lot for 3 days.  Gary brought him home and living with a foster family.  Blue is a sweet, calm, love of a dog - honestly one of the most docile we've had here.  He loves other dogs and is in a foster home with small children. 

Barney "The Bandit" is a one year old mix of Blue Heeler and a variety of hounds.  He is pretty calm and also playful.  He weighs 42 pounds and is very loving.

Phoebe came to us Thursday April 5th after being abandoned in an apartment complex and had her 6 kittens the next day!  She is a sweet, sweet girl.  Phoebe and her kittens will be adoptable mid May.

Cloe is a 5 month old boxer mix puppy who was left tied to a tree at a Home Depot. She is now in foster care with two other dogs and is sweet as can be. You can even take her food away from her and she won't growl. She likes the neighbor's children as well. Cloe is now spayed and ready for adoption.

Tashi is a very friendly 7 month old female.  She was abandoned in a local park and rescued before Thanksgiving.  Tashi is very playful, walks well on a leash, loves to retrieve frisbees and tennis balls, and loves people.

Jackson is a one year old male chihuahua/rat terrier mix. Jack is neutered and up to date on shots. Jack's foster home has three other dogs and Jack does very well with them. He is also great with kids, though he is a little shy around anything that moves too quickly. Jack has not displayed any yipping or nipping and his favorite place is a warm lap!
