Jonas- Chinchilla

AGE: 6-7 years old
SEX: Male

You couldn't ask for a friendlier fella than Jonas. He doesn't mind being held and has an excellent disposition. He just came to us this weekend so we are still getting to know him. However, we would encourage anyone interested in adopting a Chinchilla to do their research first. Chinchillas require special living quarters, such as dust, and a special diet to make sure that they stay happy and healthy. They also enjoy a good romp through the house but can not use small critter balls as they can overheat in them. Jonas would make a great pet for the right home - either an experienced Chinchilla owner or with someone willing to work with our staff to set up his habitat and home to meet his needs. Please stay tuned for additional updates on Jonas. In them meantime, please feel free to apply above to adopt him.

His adoption fee is $75.00.

Pepper- Guinea Pig

AGE: 1 year old
SEX: Female

Sugar and spice and everything nice is this sweetie's motto. Pepper is a typical Guinea Pig - sweet and social. She enjoys her carrots, veggies, and wood toys. At this time, she doesn't seem to have a whole lot to say. Pepper seems to just mostly take in the world. Don't let her silence fool you though - she is plenty active. Pepper would make a "sweet" addition to just about any home. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an adoption application above.

Her adoption fee is $20.00.

Sophia Grace & Rosie  - Guinea Pigs

AGE: 1 - 2 years old
SEX: Female

These two little ones (tri-colored) were left at a local shelter by their owner because they could no longer care for them. The shelter staff quickly realized how scared they were and wanted to get them to a quieter place. We were happy to help. They have literally just arrived in to their foster homes and are settling in nicely. We want to give them a few days to adjust and then will update you on their personalities. In the meantime, if you are considering adopting a Guinea Pig, please read up on them. They are very social creatures. These girls will make great pets for their families. We will adopt them out individually or together with appropriate housing. If you are interested in adopting them, please fill out the adoption application to speak with one of our volunteers about them. Stay tuned for more updates!

Their individual adoption fees are $20.00 each.

Lava - Guinea Pig

AGE: 2 years old
SEX: Male

Lava is one HOT pig! His coat has many colors blended together which comes across in different shades of red and brown. If you're looking for a great little pet for a child or perhaps yourself then he is the one for you. Lava loves to talk, snuggle and pretty much do anything for a treat. If you are interested in adopting Lava, please fill out an adoption application above.

His adoption fee is $20.00.

Chilly - Chinchilla

AGE: 3-5 years old
SEX: Male

Meet "Chilly", our newest adoptable Chinchilla! His foster mom reports that he is an absolute wonderful chin! Chilly is extremely friendly and loves scratches under his chin (LOL - no pun intended). He enjoyed exploring his new room today and made frequent visits to his foster mom and the cat during his journey. What a sweetheart!

Update! Here is a cute picture of "Chilly" taking his dust bath. His foster mom says he loves playtime and enjoys exploring. He is not shy around the cat in his foster home and is just a great all-around chinchilla. If you would like to meet sweet fella, please fill out an adoption application above.

Update! Chilly is still not fond of being held, although he is getting better everyday. He and his foster Chin are playing well with each other, so he would enjoy a compatible playmate.
Chilly's adoption fee is $75.00.

Weeble - Bearded Dragon

AGE: 4-5 years old
SEX: Female

Weebles wobble but they don't fall down! Well, that is at least been Weeble's goal the past 5 months. Weeble came to Red Dog Farm about 5 months ago after her previous owner could no longer keep her. She like many exotic pets was passed from home to home because people often don't research and find out what all is involved before owning one of these unique pets. Weeble suffers from a bad case of Metabolic Bone Deficiency often found in reptiles caused by calcium deficiency, poorly balanced diet, and or lack of UVB lighting. Weeble has been in rehabilitation to gain her strength and balance and we feel that she is now healthy enough to find her forever home. She still has challenges walking and crawling normal as her legs are malformed. She also sometimes flips herself over and cannot correct herself on her own. With time these changes may completely reverse or they may always remain an issue for her. She still is a picky eater but is getting used to a more balanced diet. If you would like to meet this special girl , please fill out an adoption application above.

Her adoption fee is $75.00.

Skittles - Macaw

AGE: 14 years old
SEX: Female

Skittles came to Red Dog Farm when her owners could no longer keep her. She is social but still needs some work and would do best with a family or person who understands macaws and has had one previously. She loves her blueberries, hard-boiled egg, and her toys. Skittles also enjoys shredding the daily newspaper when you are done reading it. We are still getting to know Skittles and will update you as we get to know her better.

Update! Skittles is doing wonderful in her foster home! She is very willing to step up now on her foster mom's arm and loves to help around the house as much as she can. In fact, she even likes to go to work with her foster mom. Her main job at work is to make sure that mom takes a dancing break every so often. Skittles loves to dance to Abba, Journey, and most of the TOP 40 songs currently played on the radio. Her foster mom hopes that she will be ready to go to a new home shortly. Skittles can still be a little tempermental from lacking of handling and will be available once she is a little more socialized. Please remember though that she will always be a Macaw and would probably do best with an experienced large bird owner.

Update! Skittles is doing great in her foster home. She adores her foster mom and will let her do just about anything to her. She does not particularly care for strangers but will allow a close friend to occasionally pick her up. Like most birds, especially Macaws, she is quite picky on who her friends are and will let you know her like or distaste for you. She loves her pine nuts, animal crackers, and fruit. Skittles will make an excellent addition to an experienced parrot owner’s home. Don't let her pickiness for petting discourage you because she loves to be doted on by admirers, even presenting alongside her foster mom at education presentations. As you can tell, Skittles will make an excellent companion for her "one true love".

Skittles' adoption fee is $1,500.00.

Remy & Emile- Rats

AGE: 1- 2 years old
SEX: Male

Remy and Emile were surrendered to us when their owners could no longer care for them. According to the surrendering owner, they have been handled previously. However, they haven't been handled for awhile. Their foster mom is spending lots of time socializing but they are still a little shy. Rats can make fantastic pets for experienced and new small animal owners. For now, we recommend that Remy and Emile go to an experienced home or with someone willing to get assistance in working with them. They are very cute and sweet rats. They just need to get use to getting handled again. If you are interested in adopting Remy and/or Emile, please apply above.

Their joint adoption fee is $15.00 or $10 individual.

Gilbert - Lop Rabbit

AGE: Young Adult
SEX: Male

Who couldn't love those long bunny ears? Gilbert hopes that you can't resist them and will take him home today. He is looking for a forever home to call his very own. He is a little on the thin side but is now eating a healthy diet of timothy hay, fruits, vegetables, and pellets. Gilbert has recently discovered the joys of a snuggly friend to call his very own and encourages sleeping next to his stuffed pal. Gilbert hasn't been handled in awhile but is very quickly remembering his manners. At this time, he would do best in a home with either an experienced rabbit owner or in a home with older considerate children who are willing to give him some space. Gilbert doesn't seem to mind the other furry animals in his home. This little fella just is looking for a permanent place to call his very own. If you are interested in adopting Gilbert, please fill out an adoption application above.

Gilbert's adoption fee is $30.00.

Lulu - Rabbit

AGE: Adult
SEX: Female

Who couldn't love that cute little brown nose and ears? Lulu is looking for her forever home since her owners were no longer able to care for her. She is a little nervous about getting picked up but once you have her in your arms she settles right in. Lulu LOVES to be petted. She enjoys her hay, veggies, and treats as well. Sweetie & Petey - Cockatiels

AGE: 12 years old
SEX: Female and Male

Birds of a feather flock together... and these two enjoy each other's company. They were surrendered to us by their owner of 12 years when she found out she was allergic to them and could no longer keep them. They are in excellent health and extremely friendly and social. Sweetie and Petey stay in separate cages but do enjoy sharing a room together. They are in the same cage in the pictures for the photo shoot only. They are not a breeding pair and will be adopted out as pets only. However, they do need to go together as they get depressed if they can't talk to each other. It's a long distance kind of love. ;) They will sit on your finger and enjoy socializing with the foster humans in their family. If you are interested in adopting these two, please fill out an application above.

P.S. Sweetie loves to get her head scratched and Petey loves to whistle. We think that's how he won Sweetie's heart and how he certainly won his foster mom's attention.

Due to their age, their adoption fee has been waived.

Sir Henry Hogger of Quillingsworth - Hedgehog

AGE:Adult
SEX: Male

We are pleased to announce the arrival of Sir Henry Hogger of Quillingsworth to the Red Dog Farm family. Sir Henry is a proud Hedgehog with a very discerning nose (he identifies his surroundings, friend or foe, with it). He prefers a life of consistency with an occasional swim or adventure. Like most Hedgehogs, he is most comfortable with folks that he knows often milling about their laps. He prefers a diet of Hedgehog pellets, fruits, veggies, and crickets. Sir Henry enjoys the occasional jog but often at a time when he can run at his own pace. Sir Henry will make an excellent companion pet for the right owner. He needs someone experienced with Hedgehogs or willing to "learn" from a professional about his likes and dislikes. If you are interested in giving this gentleman a forever home, please apply above.

Sir Henry Hogger of Quillingworth's adoption fee is $75.00.

Reeses- Guinea Pig

AGE: Adult
SEX: Male

We encourage everyone to do their research before adopting any pet to make sure that you are ready to love them forever. If you are interested in giving this lovable boy a home, please fill out an adoption application at www.reddogfarm.com.

His adoption fee is $20.00

Wednesday - Hamster

AGE: Adult
SEX: Female

Meet Wednesday! Wednesday came to us because her owners could not take them with during their summer internships. She is a sweet little girl who just needs sometime to adjust to a new home. Her owners carried for her and fed her a great diet. However, they weren't able to spend as much time handling her as they should have. She isn't mean just a little scared initially. Her foster mom is working with her and she is making great strides so far. Wednesday would love to find her forever home with plenty of treats, exercise, and gentle pets. We encourage everyone to do their research before adopting any pet to make sure that they are ready for the commitment. Hamsters can make wonderful pets for the right person or family. If you are interested in adopting Wednesday, please fill out the adoption application above.

Her adoption fee is $10.00.

Perry & Blossom - Parrotlets

AGE: Adult
SEX: Male & Female

Perry and Blossom came to Red Dog Farm after their owner could no longer keep them due to a move across country. They are very sweet birds and have been handled extensively. They enjoy each other's company as most birds do. With some time and daily attention though, they will still bond with their new owner. Both birds will let their foster mom pick them up, hold them, and are even starting to cuddle. They have had a fabulous diet and are in great shape. Due to their bond, we would love to see them go together. However, we will not adopt them out for breeding purposes. If you are interested in giving these two a wonderful home, please fill out the adoption application above.

Their adoption fee is $125.00.

Carmel - Guinea Pig

AGE: 8 months old
SEX:Male

Help us give a warm welcome and home to Carmel! He is a young fella at only 8 months of age. He is extremely sweet and social. Carmel came to us because he was too much for his former owner. He would do great in just about any home. He loves to snuggle up in a soft fleece blanket. Carmel is still young and will need someone willing to spend some time with him to make sure that he continues to be a social butterfly and who wouldn't with that adorable face! We encourage everyone to do their research before adopting any pet to make sure that you are ready to love them forever. If you are interested in giving this lovable boy a home, please fill out an adoption application above.

His adoption fee is $20.00.

Crush, Squirt and Duuude- Red Eared Slider Turtles

AGE: 1 year old
SEX: Unknown

Crush, Squirt & Duuude were surrendered to Red Dog Farm when they out grew their family's tank and time. Turtles need plenty of space to swim, grow, and lounge. The proper set up for them includes a tank big enough to have a body of water and a land lounge area large enough for their entire body to fit on. They don't like to be half in and half out of the water all of the time. Crush, Squirt, and Dude enjoy a pelleted diet and leafy foods. They don't mind being handled from time to time but are happy just to spend their days swimming and lounging. They are the ultimate beach bum! If you are interested in adopting any of them, please fill out an application above.

Update! Hi, my name is SQUIRT! While I may be the smallest of my brothers, I make up for my size with my huge personality! I am quick in the water and on land, and I LOVE to eat; worms are my favorite. Sometimes I even open up and take a worm right from the tweezers! We have just started eating minnows too and I really like to chase them. I promise that when you walk into the room I will excitedly greet you at the edge of the aquarium with a huge smile! I even greet the cats in my foster house and try to get them to chase me!

Update!Hi, I am CRUSH! I am a little more laid back than my brothers, except when you vacuum my tank; as soon as I see the vacuum, the chase is ON! I also like to chase minnows and gobble them up. Other than that, I am extremely friendly and like to play with my foster family’s cats when they come up to our tank. Lettuce is one of my favorite treats but I eat everything that is put in my tank. Like my brother, I will excitedly greet you every day and will not fail to make you smile!

Update! Crush & Squirt  are pending adoption. Duuude is already adopted!

Mako - Dwarf Lop

AGE: 4 years old
SEX: Male, Neutered

Mako came to Red Dog Farm when his owners could no longer care for him. He is very shy but extremely sweet. He like to be held or to sit on your lap. Mako is named after the cute little Mako shark because he has an extra row of teeth. The teeth are not causing him any health problems and our veterinarian says no treatment is needed.

Mako has recently been neutered. Rabbits make better pets and are healthier if spayed and neutered. If you are interested in adopting Mako, please fill out an adoption application above.

Because he is neutered his adoption fee is $60.00.

Odl-Lay - Dwarf Lop

AGE: 1- 2 years old
SEX: Female

"Odl-Lay" (full name Odl-Lay-Hee-Hoo from The Sound of Music, Lonely Goatherd song). Came to Red Dog Farm after her owner developed an allergy to her. Otherwise this sweet rabbit will make a great pet for anyone. If you are interested in adopting Odl-Lay, please fill out an adoption application above.

Her adoption fee is $30.00.

If you are interested in adopting Waffles, please fill out the application above.

Because he is neutered his adoption fee is $60.00.

Stop by Sedgefield Animal Hospital to meet Waffles!

Camilla- Lionhead Rabbit

AGE: 1 year old
SEX: Female

Dear Easter Bunny,

I hear that in a few weeks you will be visiting a number of homes spreading treats to little ones. During your visits please let me know if you find a fantastic home in need of a bunny. You see I lost my home about two weeks ago when my owners had to move and could not take me with them. So I am now in need of some new digs. I am a sweet little girl who is young and carefree. I make sure to eat my fruit and veggies every day and don't mind be handling. Although, I do occasionally get startled. I generally enjoy being held and exploring the house safely. I think I would do great in just about any home and can even teach a new family about bunnies if need be. I just want someplace warm, loving, and that has plenty of treats for me. My only other request is that the family really be ready for me as I don't want to have to move again. (I would move with them though... I just don't want to move families again).

Thanks for scoping out the homes for me and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sincerely, Camilla

Her adoption fee is $30.00.

Sweet Pea - Liohead Mix

AGE: 4 years old
SEX: Female

Sweet Pea came to Red Dog Farm when her owner moved and could no longer care for her. Sweet Pea couldn't have a more appropriate name - she is very sweet! She enjoys being petted and doesn't mind being handled in the least. She is a tad nervous with the resident cat but to her credit anyone would be nervous is "watched" frequently. The cat doesn't bother but just enjoys the bunny channel of cat TV. Sweet Pea is adjusting to it so she could go in to a home very easily with other critters. If you are interested in adopting Sweet Pea, please fill out an adoption application above.

Sweet Pea's adoption fee is $30.00.

Poppy & Clover - Chinchillas

AGE: Adult
SEX: Females

Poppy and Clover came to Red Dog Farm when their owner could no longer care for them. They are sweet girls who are still getting use to their new home. Here is what their foster mom had to say about their first few days with her:

"Poppy and Clover are simply delightful with the best of manners. Poppy, the older of the two, is very curious and enjoyed her first day exploring todday. Clover stayed closer to her cage but ventured out a few feet. Absolutely no biting. A little conversational chatting going on, but no fear alerts. I suspect that once they grow accustomed to my voice and the routine, they will be climbing over me in no time. Both will step onto my hand but they are not quite convinced of my intentions at this point. I can tell you that my boys do not appreciate their confinement with two strangers in the room. Newton gave Poppy a lesson in chinchilla etiquette through the cage this morning."

If you are interested in adopting Poppy and Clover, please fill out an adoption application above.

These are two bonded girls who would do best adopted together.

Update! These two girls are absolutely great! Perfect tempered, just the right amount of curiosity, and I have yet to see them chew on something outside the rules. They love to play on their playground and socialize with staff members. Poppy was the talk of her foster mom's officec recently and greeted everyone that stopped by. If ever there were chins that adored people, these two girls fit the bill. They enjoy being around people. Clover is still a little shy, but she will come around.

Our adoption fee is $75.00 for one or $125.00 for two.

Belle and Babies- Guinea Pigs

AGE: Adult and babies
SEX: 4 Females and 1 Male

Belle came to Red Dog Farm when her owner could no longer care for them. We quickly discovered that Belle was very pregnant and due any moment. Thanks to our quick acting volunteers Belle had her babies safely about 2 hours later. Belle and all four babies are doing well and enjoying their new residence in their foster home. Belle and all four babies will be available for adoption once the little ones are old enough. If you are interested in adopting Belle or her babies, please fill out an adoption application above.

Update! Belle is doing great. The babies were born on Jan 4th. They are full of energy and tons of cuteness. They squeak whenever you enter the room just to remind they would love a pet on the head or a carrot or two. Happy guinea pigs will jump straight up in the air, this is called "popcorning" . These piggies must be very happy because they are popcorning all the time! The babies will be ready to go home the first week in February. Guinea pigs are social animals who do best with the companionship of another pig of the same gender. As such, mom and the girls can be paired up for adoption. Panda, the male, will need to be adopted out to a home with another male guinea pig.

Their adoption fees are $30 for a pair (females only) or $20 for one.
