The kind farmer rescued him, got some basic medical work done and tried to find his owners. Several weeks later when he couldn't find them, he contacted us for help. Ozzy is very reserved upon meeting new people. However, he adores and looks up to other dogs. In fact, his foster siblings have helped him learn to trust humans again or at least his foster mom. Dottie - Eng. Pointer Mix or Lab/ Dalmatian Mix
AGE: 1 -2 years old
Polk-a-dottie or "Dottie" as her friends call her was found wandering the streets of Greensboro. We have been looking for her home and are still hoping to find it. However, if we are unable to locate her owners then she will be available for adoption in a few weeks. This girl has yet to meet a stranger whether you are a dog, cat, human, or small child. In fact, she hasn't paid a bit of attention to the cats in the house and enjoys hanging with her foster dog brother but doesn't mind being solo either. Dottie appears to be crate trained. She seems to like adventure or car rides but might want to eat after arriving at her destination. Dottie's foster mom also reports that she isn't much of a barker and is picking up the routine of the house pretty quickly. Finally, Dottie aims to please and would make a great addition to any family. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an application above.

If you are looking for a fun-loving guy, Frank is your man. Frank was found as a stray, and is now looking for a forever home of his own! He is a big puppy at heart and loves to have fun! He is learning basic obedience and is picking up on all his training quickly! He is a smart boy who is eager to please! Since we are still getting to know Frank, we aren’t sure how he is with cats and young kids, but he does well with other dogs. He seems to do well inside and in a crate. He is up to date on his vaccines and will be neutered and microchipped very soon. Frank will be with our trainers for the next 4-6 weeks working on basic obedience. He will be available for adoption towards the middle of April. However, if you are interested in adopting Frank, please fill out an application above.
Update: Frank had a minor setback in his training because of an injury, but we are hoping to get him back on track soon. His injury was treated and he is feeling back to his normal self now. We are expecting that Frank will be ready to go to his forever home by mid-June to early July. We also checked in with Frank's foster mom this week and she let us know that he probably needs a home with an experienced dog owner. He is sweet, but a little head-strong and needs someone who won't let him get away with much. He is eager to learn in training but still has a bit more learning to do. While we still don't know for sure how he is around cats or kids, we believe that he may be a little too energetic for cats and younger children.

Trixie- Hound Mix
AGE: 9 yeas old
This sweet girl is looking for a forever home to call her very own! She loves people, kids, and doesn’t mind other dogs. She gets easily excited around cats, so a home with either a very dog savvy cat or no cats would be best. Although she is nine years young, she has a lot of energy and love left to give. Trixie would love a nice bed or couch to call her very own. If you are looking for an older girl to share your home with, then Trixie is the perfect lady for you. Please start by filling out an adoption application above if you would like to adopt this girl.
Update - Everyone who looks into her soulful brown eyes falls in love with Trixie. Although she is nine years young, she has a lot of energy and love left to give. Don’t let her age fool you – if you’re looking for an active four-legged friend, Trixie is ready to keep up with you on your walks! Trixie would also make a great companion for someone who spends a lot of time in the car – she enjoys a nice ride and is always ready to hop right in.
Although Trixie is very loving and gentle with all the humans in her life, she does like to be top dog; she would enjoy playing with another dog who doesn’t mind letting her take the lead. She gets easily excited around cats, so a home with no cats would be best. If you think Trixie is the right fit for you, please start by filling out an adoption application!
Her adoption fee will be covered by a generous donor who would adopt Trixie in a heartbeat if she could.

With a little space and some time, she warms up fairly quickly to her people. Daisy would love to find a forever home where she is the apple of someone's eye. We are still getting to know her but will keep you updated. In the meantime, she is up to date on her vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. She still loves to get out and go for walks, or play with other dogs. She loves to be with you, but is also good in a crate if she needs to stay home during the day. Both Piper and Crash belonged to someone who could no longer give them the care they needed. It would be great if they could be adopted together, but it is not a requirement. Both received obedience training as youngsters. They lived in their owner's home with others dogs and cats, and they were house- and crate-trained. However, since it has been a while since they've been indoors, a refresher to house manners may be needed. Gilmore was adopted about a year ago. Unfortunately, the family found out they were moving out of the country and could not take him with them. So Gilmore came back to us and is looking for a new home. He does great with other dogs. Gilmore does ok with the right cat that will hold their ground with him. However, he is a little intent on rabbits so you will need to take precautions if you have one and are thinking of adopting him. Gilmore is crate trained and only seems to bark when he needs to go out or when he hasn't had enough exercise. Iggy has lived the high for the vast majority of his life. However due to a change in his family's situation, he is now looking for a new home. He is just the right mix of social, active, and the perfect couch potato. Iggy is house broken and does well with other dogs and cats. He is great with kids and has yet to meet a stranger. Iggy is up to date on all of his vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. Iggy is all set and ready to go home with his new family! Could that new family be yours? Rocky came to us from a situation of neglect. He has spent the past year of his life living outside. Rocky is a very sweet boy and is quickly relearning his house manners. He has been vaccinated and neutered but is heartworm positive. He will begin his heartworm treatment shortly. Although Rocky will be on and off bed rest for the next few weeks, he is still accepting visitors from potential adoptive families. So if you are interested in giving this sweet boy a loving home, please start by filling out an adoption application above. We will keep you posted on his progress and he continues to recover.
